For a lot of cancer survivors, adjusting to the changes in your body is a major part of living with the disease. Not just the changes inside of your body, but how you look on the outside as well. People definitely stare at you, says Lindsay Gebhardt, who is in the process of undergoing breast cancer treatment, and decided to give her wardrobe a makeover after chemotherapy changed the way she looked.
“I’ve always had this barrier of being able to walk into work looking very professional, very put together,” Lindsay says. “Once you get sick, it takes you out of your comfort zone immediately … the best way to walk out of it is to have fun. Start to make some fun fashion choices. Start to wear some things you wouldn’t wear.”
