Take it from Tripp Hornick: losing a testicle to cancer doesn’t mean that you’ll lose out on a full life – or love. He should know. Tripp underwent treatment for testicular cancer when he was just 21 years old and a senior in college. After a period of recovery from treatment, Tripp says he dived right back into the dating scene and was very open about what he’d been through. “You’re looking for someone who will be your best friend. If anyone is going to be looking down upon you because [of testicular cancer], you shouldn’t be in that relationship anyway.” And Tripp, who is now 38, has a blunt message to others who may be feeling self-conscious about losing a testicle – it’s no big deal. “Even if you are five feet in front of somebody who had testicular cancer, and looking down, you’re not going to notice that anything is wrong,” he says.
