You don’t have to be who you were before you got really sick, and your life changed. That’s CC Webster’s advice after coming out on the other end of her cancer journey. CC was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma at age 29. After treatment, she found that her new outlook on life didn’t fit with her old life.
“I was sitting at my desk, about two months into being back at work. We got another pitch proposal in … these were the moments that we lived for in the advertising world,” CC says. “But the worst thing was, that I was staring at that proposal, and I thought … this wasn’t what the last six months was for. This wasn’t why I sat through 14 (chemo) drips. I resigned the next day with no plan.” CC decided to turn her attention towards telling her story … she wrote a book about how cancer turned her life upside-down.
