Ed Yakacki has faced cancer three times. He’s really been through the ups and downs of the disease. But all of that is behind him, he says, now that he’s focused on being a dad.
“I’ve been a dad for about 15 months now,” Ed tells SurvivorNet. “It’s been the best 15 months of my life.” Ed also says that finding out his wife was pregnant gave him the courage to keep up the fight, no matter how many times cancer made him feel like throwing in the towel.
Looking forward on his future as a dad, and a cancer thriver, Ed has plenty of goals laid out. “Next 15 years of my life, I’m hoping to be healthy, cancer-free, and hopefully have more than one kid. Now I’m Mr. Mom.”
