Like many of us, celebrity cancer survivors are finding oddball distractions to keep them busy while home under quarantine. Still, they’re committed to staying home to flatten the curve to keep themselves and others safe. For Real Housewife, Tamra Judge, who revealed a melanoma on her, er, bum last July, that meant doing her own gel-mani at home: “At 19 I got my manicuring license. Who knew It would come in handy??” Here’s what some of our favorite cancer survivors are sharing during these lonely days of isolation:
Diane Keaton: Honorary Sherriff
Diane Keaton is known for her stylish hat and gloves, which she adopted to protect her skin: “I’ve had so many skin cancers. It’s a serious problem … I’ve had a lot of operations,” she told Dang Showbiz in July. Keaton, who says she’s ‘hunkered in” with her 15-year-old golden retriever, Emmy.

Before her appearance on “Our Country” a televised concert sponsored by the Academy of Country Music, last night, Crow was cleaning her house (which her son noted in a homework assignment) and mourning the death of music legend, Bill Withers. “His passing last week was a heavy blow, on top of the challenges we're all facing just trying to live day to day right now,” she wrote on Instagram.

“After making incredible, beautiful, funky records like "Ain't No Sunshine", "Grandma's Hands", "Use Me", and "Lean On Me", Bill got tired of the music business and stopped recording in 1985. When I was fortunate enough to meet him, I begged him to make music again and he replied, "I am a stonemason now and I am good at it!"

He told me he was happy and didn't want to make music anymore. Times like these remind us about what's really important in life – love, family, living life in harmony with each other and our planet. Bill's music was about that, and so much more.”

Wanda Sykes: “Turn off the Lights!”
Breast cancer survivor and comedian, Wanda Sykes, has been posting wry updates from her living room: “So, now that your kids are home, how many of you spend your day walking around your house doing this?” she asks as she flips off a light switch. “It’s daytime!” Most recently she posted a COVID-19 alert: “It’s not just New York, New Jersey — no, this bitch has an Easy Pass,” she says in an Instagram video.

“The scientists that I trust are convinced that the next hotspot will be area-code 757, Newport News, Hampton Roads, Portsmouth (Virginia). I’m from Portsmouth,” Sykes says, “so we’re talking my family, my friends.” She reminds everyone to stay apart and wash hands — “if your hands aren’t ashy,” she insists, “you aren’t washing them enough.”
Cynthia Nixon: Watching Aurora Eat Legos
Right about now, Cynthia Nixon, breast cancer survivor, might be counting her lucky stars: she ran for New York’s governor and lost to Andrew Cuomo, who is now managing to COVID-19 crisis from the country’s hotspot.
Instead, the former “Sex and the City” star is sheltering at home watching her cat, Aurora, eat legos. In her Instagram posts, her followers report that “Sex & the City” marathons are helping them cope with the isolation. She’s also posted congratulations to fashion designer, Christian Siriano, who put his team of seamstresses to work making medical masks.
Bret Michaels: Home Improvement Dynamo
Poison rocker, Bret Michaels, a melanoma survivor, has been tackling home-improvement projects: He’s refinished a coffee table and tray, lemon-Pledged his doors, and now he’s clearing brush with a chainsaw and cleaning out the garage.

His frequent Instagram posts offer a peek into his home life where, Michael says, music keeps his spirits up. “Find a hopeful, happy spot & keep the mind and spirit up so the body will follow & be safe. Just a thought – put on your favorite holiday music ???? For me, Christmas music makes me smile through these uncertain tough time, some good old school crooners ????????”
Olivia Newton-John: Flattening the Curve
Stage 4 breast cancer survivor, Olivia Newton-John is wearing a mask these days — and she wants you to, too. “This is of major importance for us all to know. We have been told we don't need masks because health workers need them desperately and there arent enough for the general public too!,” Newto-John write on Instagram. “Please pass this video on – let's be creative and make our own- like the Czech Republic has- and thank you to Masks 4 All for sending this out to the world. We can flatten our curve too!!”
Fran Drescher: “The Nanny” Reunion
The founder of Cancer Schmancer and a survivor of uterine cancer, Fran Drescher brought together the former cast of “The Nanny” for an online re-creating of Episode 1: Pandemic Table Read on YouTube. Drescher has been preaching the power of immune-boosting nutrition and lifestyle habits during the coronavirus outbreak, and always, posts updated information on her website regularly.

Daymond John: Package Safety Tips
The “Shark Tank” business investor was treated for stage 2 thyroid cancer in 2017. Since the coronavirus outbreak, John has been offering advice to help small businesses stay afloat during the economic downturn. Over the weekend, he offered tips on handling incoming packages safely.
“Here's how I've been handling deliveries due to COVID-19,” he says in an Instagram video. “You got to be so careful because [the virus] can actually be on the boxes that are delivered to you,” he tells followers in a video. “So leave the box out, like I do, for a couple of days. Then I cut the box open … hand the internal package to my wife and leave the box outside. You do not know who's touching those boxes. So be careful!"
Jane Fonda: Doing “The Jane Fonda Workout”
Jane Fonda is bringing back the Jane Fonda Workout, which she introduced in 1982. In a TikTok video Fonda does old favorites like leg lifts. “Come on and do it with me during this home sequestration,” she says.
