All of us learn from our experiences and from insights passed on by others. It’s especially true for doctors. While it’s hard to teach qualities such as empathy or “bedside manner,” many really great doctors have learned by example. For Stanford oncologist Dr. Jay Shah, some of that mentorship has come from Dr. Stephen Hahn, Chief Medical Executive at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
