Staying Positive Through Cancer
If you have just been diagnosed with cancer, negative feelings are normal. Everyone reacts differently. Anger, shame, fear, anxiety. It's all to be expected. However, experienced doctors will tell you that people who find a way to work through their emotions and stay positive do end up doing better.
Last year, Maxine was dealing with a breast cancer diagnosis, and now, after beating cancer and winning the lottery, has money to buy her dream home, which coincidentally just finally went on the market. While most will not experience such joyous luck in their lifetime, especially all at the same time, it’s vital to have your own goals and dreams that make you happyas simple or complex as they may be, always strive for fulfillment!
Money helps, but doesn’t buy happiness. In this case, we are very happy to see a cancer warrior’s luck change around in such an extreme way.
‘We didn’t want to go public initially,” Maxine said. “But I’m really passionate that if one woman, or man, goes and just checks their skin or their breast… if there’s anything different, let the specialist tell you that which is what they did to me.”
Maxine also plans to give back with her good fortune.
“Life’s been a little bit mad and there’s lots of little things that I think will help small things like… breast cancer gowns. I just want to give something back.”
