He is a board certified doctor of internal medicine and received his Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry from Amherst College, his Doctor of Medicine and Doctor of Philosophy from Johns Hopkins Medical School, and trained in internal medicine and rheumatology at Beth Israel Deaconness Medical Center).
