"From a Whisper to a Roar" is the story of St. Louis native Mellve Shahid who has shown that even in the face of adversity, goodness can prevail. Shahid survived prostate cancer and turned his battle into a mission. He founded The Empowerment Network Inc. (TEN) to support African-American men through education, prevention, and advocacy, tackling a disease that disproportionately affects their community. His hard work was praised when he was declared a Hometown Hero at a St. Louis Cardinals game for his life-changing work.
