Through a difficult year of pandemic life, coupled with cancer-related loss and its ensuing grief, Travolta has found small moments like these to celebrate. We’ve seen him lean on friends, like Sammy Haggar, celebrate his daughter Ella, take comfort in pets, and even have some fun alongside Sam Jackson while dressed as Santa Claus. Amid his grief, Travolta is a bright light for others who are struggling with cancer losses.
Kelly’s Breast Cancer Battle
Preston passed away from breast cancer on July, 12, 2020, after a private two-year battle with the disease. She was only 57 years old when she passed.
Not much is known about the specifics of Preston's diagnosis, stage of the cancer, and her treatment path; she and her family chose to keep her cancer battle private. Breast cancer is typically treated with chemotherapy, radiation and surgery.
After she passed, Travolta thanked doctors at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. "My family and I will forever be grateful to her doctors and nurses at MD Anderson Cancer Center, all the medical centers that have helped, as well as her many friends and loved ones who have been by her side," he said.

Breast cancer is typically detected via mammogram, which looks for lumps in the breast tissue and signs of cancer. Women aged 45 to 54 with an average risk of breast cancer (meaning, they have no family history of the disease), should have mammograms annually.
