Jessica Melore has been through so much, it’s incredible that she carries on with so much gratitude. Despite everything, she refuses to live in fear. Jessica is a three-time cancer survivor — but cancer wasn’t even her first health scare. She had a heart attack when she was just 16 years old, and had to have a heart transplant before she even graduated high school. She then got an infection in her leg, and had to have it amputated. But that didn’t stop her from achieving her dreams … she went to Princeton a few months later.
Her first bout with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma came just a year later. “I’ve learned never to take my health for granted,” Jessica says. “So I don’t believe in living in fear. There are always people who want to help. Having that network of support really plays a big role in getting you through a traumatic health experience.”
