Elton John was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2017, and subsequently underwent surgery for treatment. Thankfully, the surgery was successful. However, it did lead to a complication ten days after his procedure when Elton got an infection. Stewart is also a survivor of prostate cancer, after being diagnosed in 2017, just like Elton.
Since 2017, Elton has been cancer-free and thriving. He has been hard at work on a variety of projects, like his book, his film, and other pursuits.

He recently announced his plans for his return to the U.S. for a tour in 2022. Fans are itching to get to see him onstage again.
Elton's Past And His Future
Stewart and Elton remain at odds, but Elton thankfully left some other parts of his past behind. Previously, Elton struggled with alcoholism. Like cancer, he was able to beat this disease, and is now 30 years sober, as of this year.
Studies have suggested that alcohol consumption can be linked to cancer. Elton also battled substance abuse in his younger years. It's clear that this man is a survivor of a number of things and so, something tells us he will survive this interpersonal rift, too, and end up just fine.
Both of these legends have overcome so much in their life we are hopeful that they can overcome this friendship feud as well.
