“I don’t want to speak about her too much, but it’s a hard situation,” Brian Austin Green, 46, a co-star on “Beverly Hills, 90210,” said at the annual Open Hearts Gala in Beverly Hills this past weekend. “I mean, you know, cancer is not f–king easy for anyone. And I love Shannen, and we’ve always had a great relationship, and she’s strong. She’ll get through this and get out of this what she’s supposed to get out of this,” he told US Weekly.
Green’s public comments follow heartfelt best wishes from Tori Spelling, Jason Priestly and more, but it’s likely that he’s been a great support since she was diagnosed a year earlier. Doherty has said that she quietly shared the news with her trusted cast mate during shooting of the now-canceled “BH90210” remake in 2019, when she first learned her breast cancer had returned.
Actor Jason Priestley, 50, recently shared he was “very heartbroken about the news. .. Shannen was a big part of my life,” he said of Doherty, who played his twin sister on “90210.” “[We] will always have a bond that is very meaningful.”

And when Doherty posted an inspiring message after her announcement — “We Only Die Once. We Live Every Day!” — commenters on the post included another “Beverly Hills, 90210” co-star, Tori Spelling: “Sending lots of love, support, and animal vibes to make you smile xoxo.”
Of course, other actor friends showered her with support as well, including Sarah Michelle Gellar and Selma Blair.
“Beautifully said, my beautiful friend,” wrote Gellar, while Blair wrote, “You are lighting up the path. ⭐️ You are loved.”
Doherty is also famous for her co-starring role in “Charmed,” and two of her costars have also shared their best wishes, with Alyssa Milano posting a beautiful photo of Doherty captioned, “Holding you tight in my heart.”

Of course, so many others are choosing to send their well wishes privately. Doherty’s other close friend and “Charmed” co-star, Holly Marie Combs, who some had shamed for not publicly displaying support for her friend, took to Twitter to explain why:
Shannen Doherty’s Cancer Journey
Doherty had kept her Stage 4 diagnosis private for a year before revealing it in the “Good Morning America” interview with Amy Robach, who is also a cancer survivor. Her breast cancer had been in remission for three years prior to its recurrence.

“In the back of your head, you’re are always suspecting that this is going to happen,” she told Robach. “But I had definitely also, in another way, convinced myself that I had beaten it. I was the true warrior; I was the true survivor. Yeah. I was the cancer slayer.”
But Doherty’s positivity and shining spirit continues to inspire others. Her latest Instagram post thanked her supporters, and said, “I believe that I will find my footing. I’ll dig deep for the inner strength I need to face it all. I pray I do it all with dignity and grace. I have so much to say. So much to share. I will. For now… please know how much you all help lift me.”
