We lost a friend on Sunday. Maybe he didn’t know us personally but he came into our living rooms almost every night. Yesterday, Alex Trebek lost his battle with pancreatic cancer; those who loved him are honoring him and cherishing his memory.

The longtime hostess of Wheel of Fortune, Vanna White, said in an Instagram post the day Trebek died: “I will cherish the many memories I have shared with Alex Trebek that date back well before either of our careers took off. I will always be in awe of the way he faced the battle he fought so valiantly, and I’m devastated to lose my longtime friend. My heart is with his family, friends, co-workers and fans. There will never be another Alex Trebek and he will truly be missed.”
Ryan Reynolds Remembers His Fellow Canadian
Actor Ryan Reynolds, 44, paid homage to Trebek, who was a fellow Canadian. Trebek was a native of Greater Sudbury, Canada, and Reynolds is from Vancouver, Canada.
