  • Several factors go into the choice of surgery for bladder cancer, including the location of your cancer and whether and how deeply the tumor is invading into the muscle.
  • For patients with non-muscle invasive bladder cancer, treatment will most likely consist of transurethral resection of visible bladder tumor (TURBT).
  • Total removal of the bladder is recommended for patients with muscle-invasive bladder cancer, and the goal is to cure the cancer.
