After a loved one’s cancer journey has ended in their death, life’s holidays and milestones can take on an especially poignant air. That seems to be the case for Cecily Chapman, Beth Chapman’s second child and first daughter, on her first Fourth of July since her mom’s passing.
Cecily posted on Instagram a heartwarming photo of her Beth, the acclaimed TV crimefighter and wife of Duane “Dog the Bounty Hunter” Chapman, dressed up in red white and blue to celebrate a Fourth of July past, with the caption of kiss, star, and heart emojis.

When a loved one’s cancer journey ends with death, their adult children will often utilize social media to express their grief, and appreciation of the parent who’s passed. That’s certainly the case with three children of acclaimed bounty hunter and TV crimefighter Beth Chapman, 51, whose loss has been sorely felt by Cecily, Bonnie and Garry Dee.

We’ve already heard from Bonnie and Garry Dee, Beth’s two children by her husband Duane “Dog the Bounty Hunter” Chapman. And these aren’t the first post from Cecily, 26, who is Beth’s from her brief first marriage to Dog’s friend Keith Barmore, but was adopted by Dog.
This week Cecily posted four heartwarming photos on Instagram of her mom, photos which hearkened back to the good times before Beth’s cancer journey became all-consuming. The first photo shows Cecily, Beth and Dog, arms linked, in a mysterious basement.
Cecily accompanied the image with another image of hands praying and holding a rose.
In the second picture provided by Cecily, we see Duane and Beth smiling at what must be a book signing event for Dog’s tome “Where Mercy is Shown, Mercy is Given”. Here, Beth is all smiles.
The third photo shared by Cecily marks Beth’s passing and says, simply, “We will miss you Beth.”
Finally, the last image on Cecily’s story came from October of last year, when she snapped a picture of her mom and Duane’s feet. Her own ripped jeans showed in the foreground, and she wrote the words: “It’s a lifestyle” over the picture, and added a poignant image of crying piglet.
The photo was snapped shortly before Beth learned that her cancer had returned.

Touchingly, it was Cecily whom Beth chose to recognize in her final Instagram post before her untimely death. Just a week before she died, Beth shared a smiling photo of Cecily on her birthday. Beth remarked in commentary accompanying the photo: "My sunshine ! Turns 26 today.”
Beth recently shared this cheeky selfie as she headed out for a walk on the Hawaii beach with her beloved dog.
Beth went on to remark that Cecily is "A true beauty with street smarts she's reliable dependable trustworthy and true a bit devious but that comes from her up bringing she's clever and sassy.. but you'll find no one more loyal to family then she [is]! Through thick and through thin all out or all in we have muddled through this together … Celebrating Her Birthday today I'm reminded what great sacrifices she makes for family every day … Your are loved beyond words Cecily savannah you stay sweet. {or you'll answer to yo mama}.”

Cecily has one older half brother named Dominic from a relationship Beth had in high school. Dominic was born when Beth was 17 and was taken by the state. Dog later tracked him down once Dog and Beth were married.

As for Beth, she’ll be remembered in a second memorial service in Colorado later this month. Dog posted on Twitter two days ago a photo of Beth sprouting angel wings while wrapping her arms around Duane, who is throwing flower petals into the wind. The meme reads "Goodbye (for now)" at the top and "In loving memory of Beth Chapman," at the bottom. The posting also included details for Beth's Colorado memorial, "July 13, 2019 Heritage Christian Center, 14401 E. Exposition Avenue, Aurora, Colorado 80012 Doors open at 1:00 Service starts at 2:00."
Beth died after a long struggle with cancer. When she learned her cancer had returned in late 2018, she decided to forego chemotherapy and place her faith in the Lord. “Chemotherapy is not my bag,” she told assembled congregants at the Source Church in Bradenton, Florida on Mothers Day.
